Ina Garten is the queen of dinner parties, and we're bringing her casually elegant entertaining style to Rose Farm with a 3-hour hands-on workshop, hosted by our very own entertaining expert, Maggie Glisan. Participants will learn secrets to effortless entertaining from planning a crowd-pleasing menu to setting a beautiful, inviting table. The workshop includes live demonstrations of simple, yet delicious dishes as well as hands-on preparation of a make-ahead appetizer and a sweet treat that can be taken home and stored in the freezer—ready to be baked off for the next gathering. Attendees will also receive a take-home guide filled with classic recipes, practical hosting tips, and shopping lists to streamline their preparation. By the end, everyone will feel confident in hosting a stress-free, fabulous dinner party that guests will talk about for years.
Maggie is the owner + creator of Oh Hey Magpie, a local purveyor of custom gifts and goodies. Maggie spent the bulk of her career at Better Homes & Gardens as a designer, art director, and food editor. Entertaining is her love language. She's been hostesting ever since reading her mom's issue of Martha Stewart Living in the early 90s—it was a good thing!—and wants to take the intimidation factor out of having people over. When she's not setting tables, whipping up cheese boards, or illustrating personalized party touches, you can find her at home in Beaverdale watching Ted Lasso with her husband Justin and rescue pup George Stanley.
