Join Rose Farm + the Blank Park Zoo at the Des Moines Home + Garden Show for Farm School! Join us on Saturday, February 15th and Sunday, February 16th to learn about the natural world in your backyard and how you can protect it. Christine Eckles, from the Blank Park Zoo conservation initiative, "Plant, Grow, Fly" will facilitate four exciting hands-on learning stations including animal meet + greet, sensory bins, bug artifacts and a backyard bird count. Students will meet an Ambassador Animal. Students will also enjoy a short story about bugs and bug life cycle. Each child will take home supplies needed to make a seed ball + start a pollinator habitat. A small snack is also provided. Farm School is complimentary. Our lessons + stories are geared towards preschool and elementary children. However, we welcome guests of all ages as there are sensory experiences beneficial to even the youngest guest. Each participating Farm School student will receive free admission to the Home & Garden Show, along with two additional complimentary tickets for adult chaperones.
